Only two small edges create a base for the garnet cabochon to sit, creating a large empty area behind it, allowing for a large amount of light to pass through and illuminate the gemstone.

Splitting the band into three and bringing the center to a point on each side created what looks like two fangs devouring the gemstone, like a creature of the night feeding. Which is why I chose the name Vitality.
