A mythical creature that represents strength, endurance, and the protection of treasure. The Wyvern has an aggressive nature and can also symbolize war. A signet ring is traditionally worn on the pinky finger, although any finger is acceptable.

The wyvern is an emblem that is believed to have originated in Wessex (modern day Wiltshire, Somerset and Dorset) and was worn by the nobility throughout the South West of England. The wyvern has also been associated with Leicester since the Medieval period. The Welsh Dragon is also believed to have originally been a red wyvern which was modified over time into a dragon.

Designer Notes

The inspiration for this piece came from a story my uncle once told me about a family heirloom lost many generations ago. A signet ring with the heraldry of a wyvern on it, which has now become a symbol of Eldridge Jewelry.

When creating this wyvern heraldry, I referenced many different designs and tried to find some interesting shapes that looked the most aesthetic to my eyes, all while keeping the overall shape circular so as to fit comfortably inside the borders of the signet ring.

I wanted to use a simple shape for this ring band to give it a more traditional feel. Which also makes it comfortable for everyday wear.
