I have always loved medieval armor and weaponry, so I have been thinking of a unique design that I could incorporate into my jewelry.
My vision was to create something bold and powerful. The image of a fist entered my mind. The human fist is one of the most powerful symbols that I can think of, an armored fist even more so.
When starting the design I first created a glove as a base and layered the armor plating on top. I made sure to reference actual 16th century armor to make The Gauntlet as detailed as possible, this included adding hinges, rivets and individual finger plating, which became my favorite part of the pendant.
Positioning the fist facing down allowed me to use the top as an opening to hide the bail. When designing a pendant I like to have the necklace flow smoothly into the overall design whenever I can.
Weighing in at 17g of sterling silver, The Gauntlet is a bold symbol of strength and you will definitely feel its power when worn.
